Losing weight dancing salsa

Hello guys.
We are back with another tip for you today - one that focuses on losing weight and getting fit! We all know how utterly boring the weight loss process can be, whether its a special diet that never seems to work, or those boring gym routines you can't quite get motivated enough to do! But it is possible to loose weight and get fit without having to take much time out of your already busy schedule, or wasting your money on diet pills. And lets face it, even if you pop the pills or kill the carbs, its almost impossible to stick with any of these plans and keep the weight off.

So if you're wanting a safe, fun way to loose weight that you'll never want to give up READ THIS!

Consider Salsa!
Salsa dancing gives you an enjoyable cardio workout that you have you dropping that excess weight with minimum effort (its hardly effort when you're having so much fun).

Instructions
1.Buy an instructional video. To learn the basic moves of salsa dancing, you should get a DVD that explains how to master the basic and more complex steps. Dance Off the Inches makes a salsa themed video that you can use.
2. Get salsa music that will keep you motivated. Review salsa music before you purchase any CDs. Ideally, the music will pump you up and make you want to work up a sweat.

3.Learn the main steps that make up salsa dancing. To workout, you need to find out how to perform the cha cha, hip rolls and meringue. Once you learn the steps, you can put them together as a dance sequence.

4.Start slowly. The easiest way to begin salsa dancing is to not attempt to dance to the fast paced music at first. Walk through each step at a slow pace before practicing it with music.

  5. Plan to spend  at least a half an hour a day practicing your moves. Repetition is the key to mastering the style as well as burning calories. You can practice at home or take your moves out onto the dance floor.

Salsa Step by Step

Salsa is made up of basic steps and it is critical that you learn them well enough that they become second nature.
Here is an easy way to tell if you know the basic dance steps: can you dance salsa and keep a conversation with your dance partner at the same time??

Don’t worry if you’re still concentrating on the steps, just keep practicing with your online salsa courses and eventually you’ll be able to have a conversation on the dance floor.

If you are already able to talk and dance (well done), then you are ready to move onto the intermediate courses. You’ll probably want a good three months to perfect your skills before moving on to the expert courses.

One way to practice and build up your skills is to hit the clubs. Remember salsa is not just about steps and patterns, its about passion and the dance within. It doesn’t matter if you only know a few moves, women will enjoy dancing with you as long as you do the moves well. So learn as much as you can with your online course at home, and then practice practice practice in the clubs. Good luck!

Remember to check out our online courses, whether your a beginner, expert or anywhere in between...you'll be able to find exactly what you need to be the best salsa dancer you can be right here.  ENJOY!

Sangria and Salsa

Being a born and bred Aussie girl I was never exposed to any South American culture let alone Salsa!

I had often watched it on TV or saw it in movies and saw the chemistry between the dancers. It was a very appealing form of dance and expression.

I met a latin guy on the train on my way home from work one day. He was there daily, the same time, the same carriage, everyday without fail! Even if I had gotten off work early that day I would still wait for the same train so I could see him. It wasn't until we started speaking one day that I realised he was only new to Australia and quite new to English. We spent our train rides teaching each other our native language and it wasn't long before we decided we would go on a date.

Our first date he decided he would show me a piece of his culture. We went to a latin club with a friend of his. Everyone there, of all ages, were passionate about Salsa. I attempted it and even though I felt like I failed miserably as I have no coordination AT ALL, I was encouraged to keep trying. I ended up letting the pros continue dancing and sat back in awe of their skills even though they were plastered on Sangria! I couldn't even stand up after having a glass of that concoction!

Now I've enabled the help of Bnino Team with their Course 2 Domina La Salsa, I have not only improved my ability but I also have greater confidence! I now look forward to going to latin clubs, even though I haven't yet mastered the skills I know I will have a great night surrounded by friendly people with contagious energy!
Also... I've decided to stay away from the Sangria! That is one part of South American culture I will leave to the South Americans!

Thanks Bnino Team for your assistance and I hope you enjoy my first experience with Salsa. I look forward to your update of classes and events.

My frist time

I hadn’t heard anything about Salsa in my entire life (unless of course watching the movie “Ballroom Dancing” repeatedly counts) until my friend Carla’s 21st
We spent most of the night at an 80’s style night club (celebrating the great decade we were born), listening to music, playing pool and having a good time…anyone who knows the retro knows the fun fizzles out pretty early in the morning, and we weren’t ready to end our night so we went on the hunt for a good time – when we ran into my friend Lara (calling this girl wild would be a gross understatement).
We wandered around for a while when Lara had a stroke of genius to go to a Salsa Club …an idea that was fueled by alcohol more than anything else – none of us are what you might consider GOOD dancers! Whether it was the drinks, the music or the colourful club itself, before we knew it we were all half willingly being dragged in.

I think it was all of 10 seconds that had me eating my words of hesitation – the place was awesome. The energy, the people, the music…and of course, the dancing were insanely infectious. All my friends ended up joining us there, and cramming onto the crowded dance floor.

Like I said, in the beginning I was really hesitant and kept wondering what on earth we were doing swaying around between all these professional looking dancers, but after a while a few people caught our eye and started showing us some moves and dancing along with us. It was honestly one of the best nights I had had in so long. I fell in love with the Latin music and ended up dancing the whole night!
I wasn’t about to let me new found love of salsa go, so I did a bit of research about lessons and other clubs around Sydney… long story short, I now have of what I like to call my “salsa amigos” from everywhere around the world – China, Ireland, Australia, and of course South America. At least twice a month we get together and go dancing and try out new clubs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the best salsa dancer out there…but I like to think I’m getting better J

A friend put me onto this blog and I wanted to share my experience with you guys in the hopes that you might decide to take up the opportunity to one night venture into a salsa club. You may be surprised about how much you’ll enjoy the music, the people, and of course the dancing… I was!

The Benefits of Salsa

Flirting and dancing have always gone hand in hand. We have all danced at parties, exchanged a few words with a strangers
This trend has started many relationships, and although it may seem like any other form of entertainment, it seems there may be something more scientific to it.

For example in Dance Championships like Salsa not only are the performance based steps assessed, but also the interactions and physical chemistry that emerges from their dancing. For singles, incidentally, a dance course is the ideal place to meet new people. Salsa seems especially fitting with its erotic tones and encouragement of body contact. Its for this reason we should choose a dance partner for whom we feel comfortable with. In addition, salsa dancing is known to release stress, and can be considered a full scale work out. Salsa dancing not only relieves stress but it also produces sex hormones (as well as cortisol, amongst others), which makes it the date night activity.

Enrolling in a Salsa online course is therefore a good choice for those looking to meet, and enjoy the company of others.

So guys keep an eye of this blog where we will help you find the best places where you can practice and get involved in the world of salsa.
